A PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC PERSPECTIVE

Feature Portraits

These are all assignment images. The people shown here knew I was coming, and when that happens subjects sometimes have a preconceived notion of how they should be photographed. It is getting beyond that point that makes a photographer worth his film. Sometimes that means shooting a lot of film to loosen your subject up. Sometimes that means taking a little extra time in order to get the real person to show through. Most of the time you will know when you have "the picture." For me, often it seems like the picture I use is either the first frame or the last frame I shoot.
