The Mt. McKinley Mission

One of my more interesting self-generated aerial photography projects was a month long trip up the Rockies from Santa Fe to Mt. McKinley Alaska. I had been making aerial photographs of the mountains in New Mexico for some time, and I thought that photographing the highest mountain in North America would be an interesting challange. I proposed the idea to my publisher, and with his approval I set up a loose agreement with a few other newspapers I had previously worked with to share the costs. In return I agreed to provide them several picture stories on the trip. A friend made up the mission badge and I was off!
