A PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC PERSPECTIVE

People in the News

Call 'em like you see 'em. It is the responsibility of a photojournalist to capture that decisive moment in time. The day is not far off when newspapers and television stations will be forced to collabarate for economic reasons. When that day comes there will be one "shooter," someone with a video camera, and an editor somewhere behind a desk will grab frames off the video to put in the daily paper. Rolling tape on a story will never be as poignant as a photographer deciding what moment he needs to shoot. After all, it is the personality of the photographer that the reader comes to identify with. Still pictures need the perspective of a still phpotographer, not a frame editor. The man at the top left was a public official charged with stealing from a winter heat fund for the elderly. The Colorado doctor does more sex change operations than any other doctor anywhere. The prisoner is one of many with a tattooed tear, and the fellow at the lower right was photographed in a courtroom where he was being tried on multiple rape charges.
