I am a pilot: I like airplanes. I have several binders of slides on file with various pictures on aviation themes. When I travel commercially I try to make at least one image out of the window of the jetliner I am on. But specialty images need some special awareness of the subject. The four-engine Super Constellation above was Air Force One for President Eisenhower. The 727 wing is crossing a classic weather front. There is the dreaded inverted flat-spin, and my airracing idol Lefty Gardner's beautiful P-38 Lightning. Familiarity with your subject matter makes for more meaningful images.
